"OOSTENDE – The Ostend shipping and groupage company Cross Channel is being taken over by Jan Carbonez from Bruges. Carbonez gives up his position as manager of KBC bank to run a company with 19 employees and a turnover of 360 million Belgian francs. With its fleet of 80 trailers pulled by external hauliers, Cross Channel ships grouped cargo to England via the lines of P&O, Dart Lines and Cobelfret."

"OOSTENDE – The Cross Channel group, situated in Ostend, Vlietinckstraat 24, has been taken over by the former bank manager Jan Carbonez. The company has a fleet of 80 modern trailers. It was established in 1977 and was originally situated near the Ostend ferry terminal. In 1988, new buildings were constructed in an industrial estate along the motorway, but they soon appeared to be too small, so that new extensions were built. Cross Channel employs 19 people."
